Willow Trodden is a 2026 BFA candidate at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has spent her time in the sculpture program working primarily with wood and steel; her earlier work explores themes of implied and literal restriction and tension and more recently has branched into a focus on form and material capabilities. In the half of her practice where she is not creating conceptual work, she is also a furniture maker and has taken interest in period furniture, most notably the cabriole style. Outside of academics, she is a notable member of the MassArt Iron Corps and assists with tool management for the club as needed, along with helping run the furnace during iron pours twice a semester. Her work has been featured in exhibitions in MassArt galleries, including the furniture certificate show of 2025, “Cut Once”, the “Fine Arts 3D” exhibition of 2025, and “All School Show: Sculpture” in 2025. Additionally, she has also spent the last year and a half working as a Student Gallery Manager with MassArt’s academic exhibitions department where she assists in the planning, and occasionally the installation, of exhibitions within the school’s galleries.
